by lydia on March 11, 2013

Are you grain free or dairy free or even both? ‘Beyond Grain & Dairy’ by Starlene Stewart of Gaps Diet Journey may be just for you!

I have had the chance to make a few recipes from this book and they were quite good. The boys favorite were the Pumpkin Poppers, aka. donut holes (see photo below). Which also in turn thrilled me because the ingredients are very wholesome, it’s also very low in added sugar.  There are so many great recipes to choose from. I’m grateful to have a plethora of recipes that I know are tested and actually fit in our eating paradigm. Now, I want to give you all a chance to win a copy for free. But first, let’s get a little more nitty gritty details on what this book includes.

First I was diagnosed with NCGS so I gave up gluten but was substituting the wheat flour with GF grains. At first that was enough but I started gaining weight and then was diagnosed with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. The clinic where I was being treated had some recipes but were very limited and not all that palatable. So, I started gravitating towards paleo/primal bloggers and their recipes as these most closely resembled the diet the clinic had me on.
