Giveaway: Everest Nutrition Krill Oil

by lydia on April 16, 2013

***THE 2 WINNERS ARE: ANDREA JONES AND ADRIENNE ALANNIS. CONGRATS TO YOU BOTH!!***

A newer source of EPA and DHA, Antartic krill oil, may be a superb alternative for people who want to avoid any fishy aftertaste (sometimes present with conventional fish oils) and is also a source of extremely potent, naturally occurring protective antioxidant and anti-inflammatory agent, a carotenoid known as astaxanthin. This, along with naturally occurring phospholipids, can actually improve the use and protection of EPA and DHA in the body and brain better than conventional fish oil. Be prepared to pay big bucks for this alternative to fish oil, though; on the plus side, with krill oil ” less does more.” ~ Nora Gedguadas, Primal Body -Primal Mind.

I had been wanting to try some krill oil for some time and was grateful for the opportunity to do so with Everest Nutrition’s krill oil. The capsules are very small and easy to swallow, so for two of my boys this was a better alternative to the liquid fish oils which they refused to take. (Thankfully, I still have one child who loves it!). The big advantage I see of choosing krill oil over fish oil is that the EPA/DHA easily crosses the blood brain barrier. This is critical for brain and neurological development and even repair. With 4 boys in the house struggling with some level of brain imbalance is common in my home -whether it be some attention issues or mood issues. It’s important for me to find the best way to get the nutrients to their brains quickly.

I am now supplementing with a balance of krill and fish oils in my home. The nice thing about Everest Krill oil is they have a fabulous package if you buy 4 you get 2 free, making each bottle under $20. I know cod liver oil and fish oils can be pretty pricey and really add to the budget. However, with a price like this you can fit it into the budget for sure. They also offer a 90 day money back guarantee – so there is no risk at all in trying their product.

Clinical data has shown Krill Oil seems to possess numerous benefits and has the ability to: protect your heart, lower your cholesterol, fight PMS symptoms, combat inflammation, optimize your brain’s capabilities, fight aging AND boost your overall health and wellbeing! Of course this is all due to the benefits of the omega 3′s EPA/DHA but also because it’s in a phosphatidylcholine base paired with the antioxidant astaxanthin. I know when I don’t take my omega 3′s I experience more inflammation. When I implement taking a regular daily dose of omega 3′s many little pesky symptoms abate.

About Everest Nutrition’s Krill Oil

Everest Nutrition uses a proprietary extraction process to harvest the Krill, where they are collected and processed in their natural environment. Unlike Fish which are collected using nets, towed onto the ship into containers and taken to a processing plant, Krill are collected through a unique eco-harvesting system which involves the net staying under the water during the entire collection process. While the equipment stays Krill Oil Supplement Facts under water, a continuous stream of water flows through a hose or eco-portal, bringing the live fresh krill directly onto the ship that also acts as a floating factory. This means the fresh krill is processed immediately rather than storing it and then shipping it to a facility. The use of this eco-portal is not only gentle on the krill’s eco habitat but this collection practice ensures that the krill retains its potency and nutritional value. Using this type of process means that there is very minimal eco impact while increasing krill’s environmental sustainability. Check out their blog at http://krilloil.com/blog/

I am taking baby steps and researching the GAPS and Paleo diets. This would be a wonderful baby step towards healing. Thank you for hosting this giveaway.
