What wouldn’t I make? I love doing roasts, whole chickens, stock, veggies, soup, etc. My crock pot has bit the bullet, so I need a new one! Great giveaway! :)

I have not ever had a slow cooker so I’m not sure what I would make first – perhaps some veggie chili or some soup.

Just recently found you while looking for slow cooker ideas, and immediately shared your blog on my fb. Very timely offer, as in October, a jar in my travel trailer fell out and onto my crockpot, while in transit. Not only cost me a lovely jar, filled with quinoa, but I am now using an injured crockpot… piece missing from the lip, and one handle half gone, lol.

I love cooking this way! Mine is almost 12 years old and is used many times every month…. Sometimes a few times a week. My favorite thing to cook is broth and then soups. Although I love ribs and roasts too. :)

By the way, I would love to get past the first couple of entries, but I am unable to follow more people on Twitter right now. I’ve even unfollowed others to make room, and it still won’t let me. So I can’t get past the first two entries to even see the rest… :(

I am not sure what I’d like to cook first: something yummy and delicious like the lamb meatball recipe or to go for the gusto and smother myself and my loved ones with the chocolate volcano cake!! Cake in crock pot! Who would’ve ever thought it would be possible?

Reply

Renee December 22, 2013 at 7:17 pm

I think a big batch of Jambalaya would be the first thing I’d cook in it.

This crock pot would be perfect for making a whole chicken — slow cooked, then shredded to use in various dishes. After that — bone broth for my puppy.

This is tough!! I have struggled with my weight and health most of my life up until 2 1/2 years ago when I had weight loss surgery and I’m down almost 100lbs. I had a set back after my surgery as a result of a motor vehicle accident that has my exercise almost non existent and weight loss is non existent. Since my accident, I have been doing a lot of research and educating myself about food and the dangers that lurk in the food we as consumers consume. As the New Year approaches I’m hoping to take what I have learned and put it to good use. If I was fortunate enough to win this, I would definitely use this to make some of the new clean eating recipes I have found. Thanks for an awesome give-away.

Going to make your braised cabbage in the slow cooker for dinner tomorrow. Your description was very convincing! If I win the slow cooker in your give-away I believe I might turn around and give it away to one of my health coaching clients who signs up for my 7 Day Winter Detox next month. Either way will definitely be recommending you braised cabbage.

I have a recipe for Sweet and Sour spare ribs that I’ve been making for over 30 yrs that I’d make…it’s been a while. Now that the kids are grown, I don’t cook like I use to, but when they come to visit with their families…wow! I need more crockpots to put the meals together!
