It’s harder to regain health than it is to keep it these days and our health really is our most valuable and precious asset. We just can’t take it for granted. I find it interesting that many Americans today take better care of their cars than they do their own bodies. The thing is cars are machines and they’re replaceable, whereas our body is not a machine (it’s actually far more complex) and it’s the only one we get to have.
In a world today where we’re bombarded with toxins and poor quality food, no one can really take their health for granted. It could really behoove anyone under the sun, whether they think they’re healthy or not, to get a hair test and assess their body’s current metabolic picture. Let’s talk about this a bit more….
Just because you may not have a health crisis currently does not mean you are entirely healthy. Sorry to be the bearer of that news, just trying to be honest. Some people find that a ‘health crisis’ entails disease or a serious health condition. Really, that’s not true. We can have very subtle health concerns like moods, behaviors, poor sleep or lack of energy or overall vitality. Basic stuff that everyone complains about. It doesn’t have to be a heavy duty, serious health condition.
Just because you don’t have something extreme doesn’t mean you can’t benefit from finding out about your biochemistry and creating a plan to improve your health now. I feel like it’s always better to work on your health now than to wait for a crisis or a health problem to develop. We’re (myself and other health practitioners) seeing more and more people, as they get older (and even not that much older anymore, 40s, 50s or 60s), people are getting really sick. They’re having severe health issues. Even people in their 20s and 30s. What if some or many of these health issues can be prevented now rather than just waiting around to get some kind of a diagnosis one day.

You can do something about your health now and you can be proactive now about your health. The hair analysis is a great way and a great tool to help you figure out how to do that. Nobody has to be perfect when it comes to their diet or lifestyle, so don’t let that stop you from getting a hair test. That’s seriously not the point. Everyone alive today can easily take baby steps based on a hair analysis test in the right direction every single day to make strides towards a more balanced biochemistry. Balanced minerals affect pretty much every area of your body.
Hair Tissue Samples Vs. Blood Test
95% of our body’s mineral mass is actually outside of the blood.
I get this comment from clients often, “I had a blood test done. My minerals were fine.”
Your blood works extremely hard to stay regulated at the expense of your body tissues. A more accurate way to test is through hair analysis, which specifically assesses the whole body’s mineral content. Even if you had a blood test and your calcium was fine, it doesn’t mean it’s going to be inside your tissues. Most people are unfamiliar with the hair analysis because it is not offered commonly. Find a bit more why you would want to see the hair vs. the blood.
When it comes to your minerals, you want to really look at the tissue sample to really find out what’s going on.
And truth be told, ignorance is not bliss when it comes to your mineral levels because as your mineral levels get worse and worse and further out of balance, your health will get worse, too.
Basically, hair analysis provides a comprehensive metabolic analysis to reveal your nutrient deficiencies. Nutrient deficiencies may or may not be due to genetics. Hair analysis really helps you and your practitioner to better determine what quantities of nutrients you need. It’s better than going by the R.D.A. of nutrients. How could we possibly make a broad brush stroke recommendation like that for every single person? Everyone is going to be extremely different.
The cool thing about hair analysis is it helps you know exactly what supplements you need. Which is great because I know a lot of people are buying supplements and they’re just not sure if they’re the right ones for them. Or, they’re taking supplements based on a broad recommendation that may or may not be right for them.
You can save yourself a lot of trouble by doing this test to determine what you and only you need. And you can also save a lot of money that way because you’re not going to go out and buy all these supplements that might not be doing you any good or could be doing you harm.
For example, we’ve heard for so long that calcium is a supplement we all need. So, we’re getting our food fortified with calcium. And for a long time, people have just taken calcium supplements. Well, the problem is nutrients don’t really work in isolation like that. If you just take a calcium supplement all your life for years and years you never know what’s going on inside your body, you could be asking for serious trouble down the road.
Calcium hardens concrete. Think about that just for a second. If you’re only taking calcium, what could it be doing inside your body? Calcification of different areas of the body can be extremely problematic. It’s great to be able to see what’s going on with your current mineral patterns to see whether you need calcium or not. Most people do not need it and many people are taking it in some form or another. (see the example below – the first bar on the left represents calcium).

I really find that this test is extraordinarily targeted and helpful in avoiding deeper health problems. In part, it’s really useful to see that nutrient overload can cause more issues than deficiencies can. So, it can be really problematic to supplement if you don’t know what you’re doing and you don’t know your current mineral status.
Basically, the essence of nutritional therapy via working with the current biochemistry based on a hair analysis, is to identify your nutrient overloads and deficiencies and come up with a game plan that’s completely unique for you to help you normalize your body systems.
We really have to know for sure our body’s mineral levels to help us know what to eat and how to supplement correctly. Only a hair analysis can tell you what is truly happening physiologically in your body. You really don’t want to guess anymore. There’s so much information out there that people can read these days. In a way, it’s helpful and in a way, it’s not.
For one thing, it can really be extremely confusing and for another, if you follow advice based on an assumption or a guess, you could be doing something wrong for yourself. I know people don’t intend to do something that is ‘wrong’ for themselves. It really helps to know for sure what’s going on in your body, so you can begin to restore your health with a precise program of minerals and supplements and even stress relief when needed.
When we know our body’s mineral levels and we know our unique oxidation rate (which is basically the way our body metabolizes food and produces energy from it, we have certain oxidation rates. Most people are in slow oxidation rate, but not everyone), we can understand what foods are better for our body currently.
Hair analysis helps to avoid the diet dogma and playing Russian roulette with what diet we should be on. It also takes away the guesswork of supplements. Some people will need further testing to determine true food allergies and current sensitivities. The hair analysis is a great non-invasive way to find what foods the body is having trouble with overall and start there.
If you have been around in the “real food world” or are just studying up on this kind of health related stuff and you’ve started to see, “Oh, vitamin A is important. Traditional food diets are important. We need all of these great vitamins and minerals,” you start trying to get all of that in, well, what if some of those things aren’t necessary for you right now? You could save yourself a lot of frustration in trying to do it all, so to speak, and know what you need to specifically focus on currently.
That’s why this is so great because you don’t have to try to constantly be striving to make things work for yourself. You can literally kind of sit back and just focus on exactly what’s in front of you all the time. Sometimes that’s not even so easy. It does take effort. You have to realize that it will take a concerted effort on your part to actually implement your protocol.
Let me just share that you don’t have to be ‘perfect’ to see improvement.
So, let’s say, you do a hair analysis and you get your program that’s right just for you, you may get overwhelmed. What I want you to understand is that as long as you’re making small forward strides, even if you’re only taking your supplements once or twice a day and you’re just trying to eat better or maybe you just start eating a breakfast that’s perfect for you, you don’t do so great with the other two meals, well, that, right there, is a 33% improvement. So, you have to understand that some people need to take baby steps and that’s great. Some people will dive into their game plans and now go hog wild with the whole thing, because some people are more perfectionist, that kind of thing.
Everyone’s going to vary in how they apply their game plan and that’s okay. You don’t have to be perfect, you just need to be willing to make changes and willing to take the steps necessary to forward motion.
Your health really is your most precious resource and your own sole responsibility. And what a better way to get clarity on what you need to be doing than to get a hair analysis game plan in place. It saves you a lot of stress and it really can save you a lot of time, energy and money, as well. I really think no other test has the potential to test your health more significantly than a hair analysis.
